Releases
2.24.0
Latest2026-09-15Upgrading
- The payment gateway base plugin must be installed and active before you update. Earlier 2.23.x releases were self-contained; this one is not. If you update without it, the payment method disappears from your checkout and the plugin shows a notice in Plugins telling you what is missing. Nothing is lost and no orders are affected: installing the base plugin restores the payment method. The installation guide lists the base plugin and the order to install them in.
Added
- The payment method now works on the new WooCommerce Blocks checkout. If your checkout page uses the WooCommerce Checkout block rather than the classic
[woocommerce_checkout]shortcode, the payment tile, the company lookup, the payment term choices and the terms consent all appear there. You no longer need to switch your checkout page back to the shortcode. - Payment terms appear as buttons on the payment tile. The buyer picks a term at checkout instead of accepting a single fixed one, and any surcharge is shown next to each term. The terms offered are the ones on your account, and the default is the one your account sets, preferring 30 days.
- The invoice email field is on by default at checkout. If you saved a choice for it under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments, your choice is kept.
Changed
- Company lookup is offered only where there is a business register to search. Buyers in a country the register does not cover now get a plain company name field instead of a lookup that could return nothing.
- "Surcharge Method" is now called "Payment Surcharge Method" under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → ABN AMRO Zakelijk op Rekening. The setting itself is unchanged.
- Wording in the admin and at checkout follows the ABN text throughout. Some strings showed generic wording, and the Dutch translation was rebuilt after the payment method was renamed.
Fixed
- A problem reaching the payment service no longer removes the payment method from checkout. Previously an outage, or payment terms that could not be read, could hide it entirely. It now stays available: if the terms cannot be read, no term buttons appear and the account default is used.
- The admin tells you why the payment method is missing from checkout. When something does prevent it appearing, the reason is shown under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments rather than leaving you to guess.
- Your settings save even when the payment service cannot be reached. Saving used to fail outright, so a change you made during an outage was lost.
- A payment term your account does not offer is no longer shown to buyers. The custom payment term setting can now only be cleared, not set to a new value, because the terms come from your account.
- The company lookup keeps a single suggestion list open and can be used with the keyboard.
